Marcel Irons vs. Ceramic Irons

                    Old School vs. New School

During my career as a hairstylist I've often notice that many stylist have discontinued using the Marcel iron for one reason or another. This has been going on for the last 5-7 years now and I will tell you that there's no way I can achieve the silky straight hairstyles without using my Marcel irons! One thing I've noticed from my client's reactions when they see me working with a actual stove it's like they have 100% trust in the finish hairstyle once they see me working with the Marcel irons.

I've also heard story's from client's saying that they feel the stylist should not use plug-in irons if they consider themselves as professionals. As a professional hairstylist it's important to separate yourself from your client's who may use the same tools at home to straighten their hair when they are between salon visits.

One of my favorite Marcel irons are the Milstan irons I purchased my first set back in 1987 and let me tell you at the age of 15 years old I was working at a salon in Inglewood, CA it took me all summer to save my money to buy these irons and I will tell you they have been worth every bit of my investment! Now I've also purchased irons from Kizure and Golden Supreme they are okay..I just prefer my Milstan Irons to create my Divastyles! I feel that they have a much better performance creating shiny, silky, soft hair that stays straight in humidly and rain!

Another missing step I've noticed when using the plug-in ceramic irons is the fact that you cannot get close to the roots to straighten completely! That's right you still need a pressing comb ladies!! So what's the point? I'm keeping it old school! In fact I plan on doing some educational classes to teach stylist the best straighten techniques!
